This print portrays a serene and captivating half underwater scene that showcases a magnificent whale as its main focus. St. John's Harbour is looming in the distance with cabot tower on the right-hand side of the painting and Fort Amherst Lighthouse on the left.The light from the lighthouse  provides a stunning backdrop for the scene, with its bright light shining against the darkened skies. The whale represents the Newfoundlander who has left home for various reasons and is now being guided back home by the bright beacon of light. This is a moody painting depicting all the feelings of coming home after being away for a period of time.
This print is also a tribute to the beauty of the ocean and its inhabitants which Newfoundland has build its existence on.
